Travels - 2012

A mere 24 flight hours from NJ is the islands of Bali, as well as the Wakatobi Dive Resort in Indonesia.  Bali’s people were friendly, its topside sights were enlightening.  Wakatobi diving was drift/current assisted and included soft corals, lots of macro critters and poisonous sea snakes.  Despite its remoteness, the dive resort wasn’t idyllic for non-divers in terms of being a quiet retreat from civilization as one might have expected:  its location was in an archipelago with two dozen nearby local communities with frequent & noisy local boat traffic.
